Im a mum of two sen boys under the the age of 5. My youngest is non verbal and I’m 22 weeks pregnant. I had tonic him up to change him and pulled my lower back so bad I’ve started getting sciatica.

i tried hot water bottles and lying down as much as I can with looking after my boys, but ended up calling 111. They have me a thee day course of co/codamol but insisted that when that course finishes and the pain is still there, ring 111 again or go to hospital.

so last night I did exactly that, the consultants all said they’ve been able to prescribe me something but date to get ambulance to hospital. I go there and the said they’d prescribe me something (queens hospital Romford)

im waiting for hours an then they said I’m on not int he system, I’m wheeled to be registered and then wheeled to see a nurse who said I needed urgent care with dr. I then waited 3 hours to be seen and assessed by dr who confirmed I had very bad sciatica as I can barely move. However he said he didn’t feel comfortable prescribing anything and he wouldn’t email my go for them to call me in 7 days…

I couldn’t believe this as I was told by serve real people there I would get a short course until I can be seen properly and I’m not able to care for my children the best I can. He said that he could prescribe me it but just doesn’t want to as he’s not comfortable and sent me away.

he told me to go to a reception who could potentially get me home as I had no money and came by ambulance. The lady who saw me had originally assessed me and asked what was minding there, I explained the situation and she suggested just buy occodamol the counter. I said I used to work in a pharmacy and that’s not allowed you need a dr prescription.

she then said I would need to get the night buses home (4am) with my wristband, I said I haven’t been given one and she said well you’ll just have to wait until someone can help you in the late morning hours.

I then had a lovely girl came up to me who could see I was pretty hysterical as I was in such pain and she paid for me to have an uber home. Of course I got her number to send the money back.

has anyone been in a situation like this? Going around in circles? Especially with Sen children, I’m aware of what can be taken and what doses as I’m qualified yet I’ve not had anyone say they just didn’t want to. Not so they offer crutches etc.

im extremely depressed at this point. Sorry to rant. Tia
