Hi guys,

I am 5w2d pregnant with my 2nd! I had a MMC with the pregnancy before I had my daughter so understandably I had a LOT of scans with my daughter

I want to relax a bit this pregnancy but easier said than done lol

How many scans did you have in first trimester? I definitely want at least one

I only had one scan during the first tri which was the dating scan. Turns out I was 13w1d. So 2 weeks further along than we thought.

I so far have had one extra scan than normal (at 17w) since I'm epileptic and the extra scan was to make sure the brain and spine where developing normally.

I’m in exactly the same position! Currently around 6 weeks having had a MMC before my son. Unfortunately with the MMC we had a scan at 7 weeks with a perfect heartbeat, so early scans don’t really help the anxiety much . Not that it’s stopped me, with my son I had 5 scans before 12 weeks 🙈. This time I’ve got one on the NHS at 7ish weeks (because haven’t had a period in 2 years while preg/breastfeeding so can’t officially date). And then planning another privately at 9 or 10 weeks. I thought I’d be much more relaxed this time round but I’m not much better! Really good luck x

Ah thanks so much

@Livv94 Wow, our situations are almost identical! I think what worries me is with my MMC I had a scan at 7 weeks, heartbeat was there and perfect, baby died a couple of days later but I didnt bleed until well over 9 weeks. I was going to do a 7 week scan to check its in the right place then again at 9 weeks as I feel like I'd feel better making it past my MMC stage ... Just how my brain works. Good luck to you too! Hopefully at the end of the year we both have our healthy babies xx

Literally exactly the same! Sorry to hear about the MMC, they are just awful aren’t they. And ruin all future pregnancies 😞 Having been nearly as anxious as me last time round my husband is so relaxed this time he keeps forgetting I’m pregnant 😂 so jealous. Keep me posted on how it all goes xx

With my first pregnancy I booked a private scan for 8 weeks. I then had a scare at 7 weeks and had a scan at EPU, and they booked me in again for 10 weeks.

I’m 4+4 with my second and waiting to see if I end up at EPU again (likely) before booking a private scan.
