Food poisoning at 6.5 weeks pregnant, likely to affect baby?

My wife had suspected food poisoning at 6.5w. Vomiting and diarrhoea and didn’t eat for almost 48 hours. Is this likely to affect baby? Already had one scan and seen heartbeat but concerned this food poisoning will have affected the baby.

I think that the placenta only starts to take over from the yolk sac at about 8 weeks. So it should be fine. Your poor wife though. Hope that you are taking good care of her.

The feck has this got to do with it?

OP I had horrendous food poisoning in early pregnancy and my baby was fine. I was told to stay hydrated and rest.

I had food poisoning early on and everything was fine - hope she is better soon

I had food poisoning or a stomach bug at 12 weeks pregnant. It was horrific and I recall the worry so thoughts with your wife...however pleased to report that pregnancy is a happy, healthy almost 8 year old ❤️

From experience (at pretty much the same gestation), your wife and the baby should be fine. I did have issues during my pregnancy, but I don't think I can blame my anatomical abnormalities on food poisoning. I hope your wife feels better soon.

Had food poisoning in both my pregnancies (1st trimester both times), both babies fine!

Same here, I had food poisoning when I was 14 weeks
pregnant with dd (who is 13 now). It was from a German sausage I had at a fete that my
dp at the time said looked undercooked half way through me thoroughly enjoying it and took it
off me ( I was irrationally furious with him for the rest of the day).
