Girls!! Please help me out, this is my first pregnancy and I’m going crazy I had this discharge today just now I’ve attached a tissue and pad pic. i wear a pad to catch any discharge. idk if the camera picks it up but it’s like a faint light brown ish

Am I miscarrying? I’m so scared

anyone else experienced this?

I’ve had this, one ended in a miscarriage and one ended up with my healthy DS. For the miscarriage it got progressively heavier over the next few days. For the pregnancy with my DS I spotted daily for about 4 weeks but it was always light.

I had brown discharge (more than this) while way through my first trimester and it was fine. Brown means old blood. But I would still suggest contacting EPU as if it continues they can do an early scan for you x

Thank you !! I actually had a scan via EPU at 4w5d to confirm it wasn’t ectopic since I was cramping on one side etc, and they had made a scheduled scan appointment for 2 weeks later, which is actually tomorrow! I will update.

At that scan they saw the fetal pole, which apparently is early according to what I’ve seen online, so maybe I’m further along than I think ?

I just have to wait until tomorrow’s scan to see if everything is okay, I really am hoping for the best. But thank you for giving me the reassurance. Hopefully my baby is perfectly fine xx

I’m really sorry about your miscarriage, and also congratulations on your DS!💙 I’m hoping this doesn’t get heavier. I have a scan tomorrow hopefully it’s all well xx

I am sure it will be ok. Honestly I had it every day for over a month - was so stressed. It eventually stopped, they have no idea what caused it!’

MauriceTheMussel · 30/03/2026 16:39

Fingers crossed for you

I had a frigging MASSIVE bleed at about 7 weeks - bright red blood and filled a pad in a few hours, could feel the gush when I got out the car to be scanned. Turned out baby was just looking for food so the whatever bit had burrowed into my lining to find a source!

He’s snoozing next to me now.

The female body, and a pregnant one at that, is a curious thing! Not all bleeds are bad and the body is more resilient than first appears.
