Cervical ectropion - bleeding 14 weeks. Anyone else has this?

yesterday morning I experienced trickles of bright red blood, after having sex the night before. I’ve been sexually active this whole pregnancy and its never happened before
I went in for a check up and the nurse could hear babys heart beat fine on the Doppler. She suspected it could be due to a Cervical ectropion, and that my cervix was just irritated from the intercourse. But when she did the transvaginal ultrasound, she could not get a clear view to confirm, due to a pool of blood at the neck of my cervix. when she pulled the probe out, I bled quite a lot more, which was traumatic for me as I was convinced I was miscarrying

she then called in another nurse who did an external ultrasound and could see baby bouncing away fine, said the inside of my cervix all looked fine and there was no source of bleeding from within. So, as suspected it was likely just the outside of my cervix being sensitive.

this morning the blood is more a watery pink/ darker red/brown on and off.

Im looking for reassurance as to whether anyone else has experienced this? I’m still trying to get over yesterdays events :(

Yes I had this. Multiple episodes of random bleeds and listening to DD snoozing on her monitor 💖 very triggering and traumatic experience ✨

Yes, I had one at 22 weeks. It was terrifying (I assumed I was miscarrying) but all was well with baby, and it stopped after a day and didn't happen again.

Fingers very much crossed for you that it doesn't happen again. And I wasn't sexually active at all during pregnancy so don't blame yourself, it's just one of those things.

I had awful bleeding when I was 11 weeks. I went to A&E after a few hours and it became so bad that I ended up bleeding through my trousers and onto my shoes too while I was waiting to be seen. I 100% thought I was miscarrying. It turns out I had a subchorionic hematoma. My sweet girl is 9 months old now though!

Yes, it happened inmy first pregnancy after sex at around 20 wk mark (all a bit hazy as DC is now in their twenties!) due to ectropian cervix. I had a night in hospital for monitoring, Dr recommended no more sex during the pregnancy and everything was fine after that. Best wishes.

I had this during my first and current pregnancy. First pregnancy it took 5 different bouts of bleeding for the midwives to even see it was a cervical ectropian. I basically bleed up to my third trimester. Some massive bleeds others just random little bleeds that lasted days. Baby was always fine and is now a happy 2 year old.

Also currently have it this pregnancy. Can be very worrying. Hopefully yours will stop soon!
