A weird early pregnancy at 3 weeks ?

This is going to be long...

so background 33, have a son age 2, we had 2 early miscarriages before him. We have started trying since sept last year, I had an early miscarriage November. Then caught straight away and had a chemical in Jan.

I have well controlled hypothyroidism and it's very stable and in optimal ranges. I have a bicornuate uterus and a retroverted uterus.

So here's the weird part ... had my period 4-8th march, had sex 9th March, felt crampy, sore boobs and felt off so thought I was ovulating. Did a LH test on 12th march and it was very positive so presumed I was ovulating, a few days later i still felt weird. so on the 15th march I took a pregnancy test and it was very positive. not a dye stealer but not faint positive, obviously positive. I had a TVS scan yesterday and the OBS cons said it looks like a 3 week thick lining, like a pregnancy lining, she saw a tiny dot but nothing to say it was a sac. I had my HCG done yesterday and it was 911, I have my repeat tomorrow. I have a repeat scan in a week. But none of that adds up unless I ovulated immediately after my period.

so I'm just seeing if anyone relates to any of this ? I just feel so alone. I am naturally anxious about it all. Positive stories please if possible.

Side note, since I found out I'm pregnant I've been put on prednisolone 20mg, aspirin 150mg, cyclogest 400mg twice a day and clexane.

Symptoms currently feel like nothing, sore boobs have gone, I've had a bit of nausea but nothing crazy. No bleeding, some cramps but again nothing that last like a few seconds at a time. I don't know if it the meds but I'm so bloated and have a lot of trapped gas which makes me feel like I'm all achy and like I've done a work out. I just need anyone who's had anything similar?

Two of my kids were conceived immediately after my period. Remember, day one of your cycle is the first day of your period not the last and sperm can live for a few days inside. I've been told it's impossible but it happened to me twice.

On second pregnancy now, approx 18 weeks. Got my positive for this pregnancy on about CD21 or 22 (maybe one or two days late, I can’t quite remember), but ‘knew’ something was up a few days before I tested positive.

So I must’ve ovulated about two or three days after my period finished, all my cycles since period returned after DC1 was born had been really short, under 25 days or so.

I obviously took a few more tests over the next two weeks after my positive because I couldn’t quite believe how early the positive was, but all those were positive too!

If you had sex on 9th March and had a very obvious positive on 15th March that is very unusual. It’s not unusual to ovulate just after your period. It can happen so that isn’t a worry. But to get a very clear positive at 6dpo that’s very unusual. An embryo isn’t formed enough to implant until 5 days after conception then it takes a while for HCG to rise. Plus if you had a scan which stated around 3 weeks - 3 weeks pregnant is 7dpo. Which is one day after you think you tested positive. So I’ll be honest it doesn’t add up. Especially with HCG if 911. That is not a 7dpo/3 weeks number.

If you hadn’t have had the scan I’d have said you conceived the month before and the “period” was actually heavy implantation bleeding.

The other option is are you sure the pregnancy test was positive and not an evap line? Because if you had a normal period 4-8th and conceived around 9-13 that could explain more only showing 3 weeks. But with a positive test on 15th it doesn’t really add up well.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I only just saw the thread but I did have something similar which was also an early loss. In my case I tested positive during my period so the conception was from the previous cycle. Best of luck with TTC moving forwards.

if you are anywhere near Surrey and have deep pockets, I went to CRP in Epsom and found them very helpful x

🎉 Further update: it was an ectopic pregnancy 🫠 had my right tube removed yesterday. What a rollercoaster 🎉
