I had my gender scan a couple of days ago at 16 and a half weeks and we had the reveal in the envelope so whenever the tech looked at the sex on the scan we closed our eyes.
She did say the baby had her legs crossed at the beginning so I had to jump around a bit and that the cord was between her legs so after some moving around the tech was able to see the sex of the baby. She did check a few times to make sure she’s got it she said. This is the scan photo we got - I’m over the moon with a little girl, of course would be regardlesspre however anytime I see other girl “potty shots” they all seem to have the white lines and mine doesn’t it just seems to go straight across? Not sure if anyone else’s girl scan looked like this?

To me it looks like baby is at an angle so you can’t see all of it, as it were. I’m not a sonographer though so I could be wrong! But when I was pregnant I had a few things I was sure didn’t look normal (like I thought one was missing an entire body part and couldn’t understand why no one else was concerned) and I realised after I had them I’d missed so many details on the scan that suddenly became apparent! Like little bones, and face shape that clearly looked like a family member and thumb sucking! I think it’s a complicated job and honestly a layperson’s eyes just don’t know how to interpret it. Congrats on your little girl!

Thank you! And yes definitely ultimately I’m not sure what I’m looking at, they know best & she did take quite a while saying she wanted to check from every angle so she would have seen way more on the scan than just this I imagine. Of course I guess the only way to be 100% is when you give birth & she did seem confident but I haven’t found a lot of gender scans that look like mine :)

Congratulations! 💗I couldn't see the three lines on my gender scan either at 18 weeks. I'm now 32 weeks and have had 3 scans since and they have all said girl. Here is my 18 week gender scan for comparison. I didn't believe it for weeks so at my 20 week scan and growth scans I asked them to double check she was still a girl!

Theres a chance they could be wrong ive seen many a time they said girl and its been wrong, just like any scan. Wait till your 20 week scan and get them to check but either way few months and you’ll know for sure :)

Thank you 💗ah I can’t seem to see your photo but I have since been told that quite a few people didn’t see it on their scan photos, something to do with the baby’s exact position while they captured the scan photo? Congratulations on your girl ☺️

Yes I think nothing is 100% is it, I think it’s either wait till birth or get a blood test so we will see for defo in the next couple of months! I’ll ask at our 20 week scan if she can see to confirm as well ☺️
