First time TTC. Can anyone recommend natural prenatals that contain folate rather than folic acid?
I have been taking pregnacare but have seen these aren’t great. Have been looking online but it’s a mindful.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I took terra nova and was happy with them, the folate is calcium l methylfolate and it uses freeze dried plants as a source for many of the vitamins/minerals.

I still take them postpartum. I found myself a bit nauseous after taking them in pregnancy but everything made me feel that way so can't really blame the supplements 😂

Best wishes on your journey ☺️

Thanks so much!

Did you take anything alongside it or just the prenatal? X

I took my usual vit d & just added bump & beyond folate.

Other prenatals really messed with my digestion!

Oh so you just took two vitamins when TTC? I have been doing so much research and feel so conflicted as some say you need certain and others say you don’t 🙈x

Yep. I went by the advice of NHS and was mindful of my diet.

I took extra vitamin D (the prenatal has 400IU but I live in the Highlands and tend to keep my skin covered!)

Other than that I ate as well as I could in each trimester (I had vomiting 1st and 3rd trimester so then it was a case of whatever I could keep down 😅) prioritising eggs and meat/fish. My bloods were always great and my midwife even noted that my iron levels went up over the course of my pregnancy ☺️

Try not to worry too much about it, I felt bad in the first trimester that I wasn't eating as well as I normally would but my midwife reassured me that your body will use it's reserves to keep baby growing until the nausea passes. 😁

I used Myova pre-conception vitamins. I conceived on our first month of trying with the baby I’m pregnant with now.

I switched from pregnacare to procieve which are much better ☺️

Has anyone been in a calorie deficit when TTC?
I want to loose a bit of weight but we are also TTC.
I am in a deficit of 500 calories a day.

Has anyone done this and fallen pregnant with no issues?

Yes @TTCJourney26xI changed my lifestyle completely during TTC, I brought my BMI down and started HIIT classes to shift 2-3 stone which I honestly think helped my IVF journey! I am now 6 weeks pregnant through 2nd round IVF

Oh amazing!! Congratulations! :)

People have been scaring me saying it’s not good when TTC as your body doesn’t feel safe enough to fall pregnant in a deficit! X
