Are PoundLand pregnancy tests accurate?

Ladies, I have a question. I am five days late. This is unusual for me sometimes there’s a couple of days worth of fluctuation in my menstrual cycle, but it’s pretty steady. For the last couple of days I’ve had intermittent cramping. That stopped today. I have now taken two of the FirstVue pregnancy tests from PoundLand. both have come up negative. But I still don’t have my period.
I know they’re supposed to be as accurate as any other test at the stage. I'm almost 43 so if I’m not pregnant, I’m wondering if it could be perimenopause. Or if I should just retest again in a couple days.
Has anybody had any experience with these pregnancy test showing negative and still being pregnant?

I used them a few weeks ago, came up with a strong positive 3 days before my period, I'm a similar age to you and thought it was either menopause or an actual pregnancy. If you are pregnant the cheapo nasty tests will show a positive, you really don't need to spend £10 on a test to be sure it is negative, the cheap ones work just fine, even before a missed period (if you are pregnant). 5 days late I would believe the test, unless you ovulated late?
