Six weeks pregnant with six days bleeding and no sign of stopping, experiences?

I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding for 6 days now. Stated with light brown spotting and then turned to darker heavier brown spotting. I have had 2 or 3 episodes of bright red bleeding and blood clots during this time too.

I had a scan at the EPU at 5 weeks and 5 days and they saw a gestational sac, yolk sac and a tiny 1.2mm fetal pole which they say was normal for the gestation. I could also be a few days out.

I still have strong nausea and sore breasts and I am having stark dark positive pregnancy tests despite 6 days of bleeding now.

I have another scan booked for Friday but honestly I am just spiralling and feel heartbroken every time I see the blood.

can anyone else share a similar experience and outcome? Especially the bleeding for 6 days (not getting better or worse). It really is an emotional rollercoaster and the not knowing is so hard.

Sorry you are going through this.

I’ve had the bleeding before the 5 weeks and unfortunately it didn’t work out for me. I only had the sack. Sounds like you are further on than I was.

I am 6 weeks now and had some bleeding last week, had a scan today and saw a heartbeat and was prescribed progesterone. Maybe ask about this at your scan if there is progress.

It will feel like Friday is a long way away. Try stop testing (I was still testing positive after I had taken the medical management medication) and believe that you are pregnant until told otherwise.

Be kind to yourself ❤️ I hope your scan is positive outcome.

I had this at exactly the same time. The bleeding did lighten up after a bit but didn't completely stop until about two weeks later. I then had more bleeding at around 10 weeks (pink and watery, then spotting) and again at 14 weeks (bright red, which I was really anxious about). I had a healthy baby at term, but I remember the anxious limbo of those weeks in pregnancy not knowing if I would miscarry or not. They never found out the cause of the bleeding. Fingers crossed for you and sending lots of good wishes.

@YourGreyDuck im so sorry for your loss. I am sending positive thoughts for your current pregnancy and I hope this one goes perfectly for you ❤️ bleeding is so scary isn’t it. I agree - the testing is probably so pointless at this stage and seeing the dark line and the horrible sickness is probably giving me false hope to be honest.

@MrsW9 that is quite reassuring to hear. I am into day 7 of bleeding now, it’s quite light but it is bright red. I have had one or two occasions of “gushes” and quite a lot of big blood clots which is making me feel quite disconnected from it all now. Strangely no pain or cramping though and I usually have horrendously painful and heavy periods. Thanks for your response and so happy that you got your wonderful little bub 💝
