Midwife’s gender guess v nub theory?

This is my second pregnancy and neither times did we want to find out the gender and both times HCPs have either hinted heavily or given their opinion on what they think it could be. Why do they do this?!
It’s so frustrating and now I’m in a rabbit hole of being convinced the midwife was right only based on how my bump looked and how active the baby was, which I know is ridiculous, but you can’t help but feel they have experience on their side.

Any guesses based on my scans at 13+2 weeks attached? Curious to know if her intuition matches nub theory or if they’re at odds!

nub and skull look very similar to my DS. So I guess boy

I thought the heart beats were quite different in the case of my son and daughter. can't remember which is said to be faster but I believe that's one vague way to guess at it. I'm sure I'm going to be corrected soon

I have heard this too, and assumed it was an old wives tale. The midwife did make the gender comment before measuring babies heart beat, so I don’t even think it was based on that!

1 girl guess and 2 boy guesses and an equal spilt in the votes! Maybe the nub isn’t clear in the ultrasound?

Good question! Earlier on in pregnancy I was leaning girl, but more recently I’ve started to feel more boy vibes.

Midwife said she thinks it’s a boy and said ‘good luck with that’ which was a throw away comment but one that was unnecessary imo (I think this was based on amount it was kicking during her checks).

Anyway I’m non the wiser after this thread as the votes are 50:50, so I guess the nub isn’t clear and I’ll await a suprise in a few weeks.
I’ll update when baby is here!

According to the heartbeat theory.. anything over 140bpm leans towards a girl. Rounded skull more a girl and bump shape being lower indicates a girl.
I had all 3 and a consultant said that's a 7lb girl or I'll eat my hat. 3 weeks later 9lb Harry arrives.
