Hi everyone 🤍
I had a cervical McDonald stitch placed yesterday at 13+4 and I’m feeling quite anxious, so I was hoping to hear some experiences from others who have been through something similar.
My first loss was at full term, which was devastating, and I was later told it involved medical negligence.
My second loss was in 2022 due to a cord prolapse at 21 weeks. I had bulging membranes at 20 weeks and they placed a stitch, but sadly a week later the cord prolapsed and I lost my baby.
Because of my history, this time my doctors have placed the stitch earlier as a preventative measure, and I’m really hoping for a better outcome 🤞
If anyone has had a McDonald/cerclage stitch, especially placed early in pregnancy, I would really appreciate hearing your experiences:
• How did your pregnancy go afterwards?
• Did you make it to full term or close to it?
• Any advice or things that helped you during the pregnancy?
Positive or honest experiences are all welcome. Hearing other people’s stories would really mean a lot to me right now 🤍
