I’m 26w with my second pregnancy and my GP asked me for a blood test due to a separate issue. My midwife hasn’t taken any bloods since my first appointment, despite me asking as in my first pregnancy I ended up anaemic. I was prescribed the higher rate folic acid when I found out I was pregnant.
When I was around 12w I asked my midwife if I should continue with the higher dose folic acid and she said yes.
The GP just rang me with my results and told me to stop the folic acid as my level was at least 24, it could be higher they don’t actually know because 24 is as high as they measure it.
Have I hurt my baby? I was googling and it said that it can increase the babies risk for autism, diabetes and asthma. How dangerous is this? I’m worried sick.
