SCARED PREGNANCY AFTER PLACENTAL ABRUPTION

As the title says, im currently 18+6 but my last pregnancy ended with an emergency c section at 26+3 due to a severe placental abruption.

My son spent 104 days in hospital and was lm oxygen for over a year but other than being quite small he is doing well and has no problems.

I had a dream the other night that I was in the bath and I started bleeding, this is what happened with my previous pregnancy so it is definitely playing on my mind.

Every time I have any cramps I'm worrying something is going wrong. I havent felt baby move yet either which would be a bit more reassuring.

Also have GD again so i just feel overly anxious about this pregnancy.

Congratulations on your pregnancy OP, I can imagine how stressful it must be after your last experience. Did they ever find out what caused the abruption in your first pregnancy? I know one of my friends had an abruption in first pregnancy and they believed it was due to high blood pressure so she was monitored more closely in her next pregnancy, she did have another abruption in her second pregnancy but much later on and again it was at the point her blood pressure got difficult to control. Good luck x

I had an abruption at 37w; was actually in hospital for an appointment at the time, luckily for us.

my second pregnancy (accidental, many years later, because we had been too scared to try again) passed off without a hitch.

Forgot to say, wishing you all the best

Thank you, they never mentioned a reason so don't believe they know why it happened. I am on aspirin for this pregnancy and will have growth scans but it can just happen so suddenly.

Thank you, im glad your second pregnancy went smoothly.
I wasn't even aware of what a placental abruption was until my last pregnancy and it was a very close call. My sons heart rate was very slow and they had to work on him for 17 minutes when he was born. I did have back ache for a couple of days before but put it down to a strain as I had had a stomach bug. The night it happened it started off like period cramps, decided to have a bath at 1am and started bleeding in the bath. It's scary to think that if I had gone to bed it could have been a whole different story.
