Early scans

Hi, just curious, if you had an early scan at the EPU or Tommy's, was your sonographer at your 12 week scan aware of the scan and discuss this with you, or were they not interested/ didn't know about it? I had one at 8 weeks with Tommy's which looked great, and I'm not sure if they'll have it on their system (different hospital but same trust), or whether I need to mention it to them. I imagine they'll be less interested in what happened before and more interested in what they're scanning on the day. Thanks!

The sonographer is only interested in what they see on the day and may ask/look at past scans in the unlikely event something isn’t quite right with dating at your 12 week scan.

By the sounds of things you’ve experienced loss previously xx I would mention that at the start of your scan if you feel comfortable to as they may give information a bit quicker/be more sensitive in the scan. Good luck xxxxx

Hi, @utardelis thank you. Yes I have a few times. I have a daughter but we didn't have early scans for her so I wasn't sure whether they have this info or we need to give it to them.

I had a scan at EPU at 6 weeks due to bleeding, I think the sonographer referenced it when I had my 12 week one. You could mention it but I think they’ll focus on checking everything as it is that day
