Mastitis/breast inflammation in pregnancy?

I had mild mastitis with DD a couple of weeks post birth, now expecting no. 2 and have got a red patch under my nipple and soreness radiating out from the patch. Could this be some form of mastitis? Can you get it in pregnancy? My MW said she has never heard of it in pregnancy before

Are you wearing a maternity bra? How far gone are you? I can't see why you can't get mastitis in pregnancy - do you have a temp? Are you leaking yet?

Although I have had hot patches and redness this time round and it's been abit itchy, just sort of super sensative pregnancy skin irritation. Maybe try and sooth with some lanisoh if it seems more skin related?

I am wearing a maternity bra but might get remeasured as thinking about it they could be more comfortable. Started leaking a little this week so might be related to that.

Might try hot and cold compresses!
