there will be around 22 months between my boys, I’m looking at getting a double pram but not sure what to go for? We’ve looked at the bugaboo donkey but I’m just not sure. I don’t drive so will need to fit on public transport.

any recommendations?

Exactly the gap I had. We had a Mountain Buggy Duet which was ace. Side by side bit fits through single doorways and on buses easily.

The donkey is a nightmare on public transport because its so much wider than other doubles. Have a look at Out N About double nipper or Mountain Buggy Duet. Uppababy minu duo is also good but city only really as its quite low and small wheels so probably not good for off road. Decent basket though.

I currently have 2 under 2, 19 month age gap and have the Bugaboo Donkey and do love it, have never struggled to get it into any shops etc but have never tried it on a bus so not sure if it would be an issue.

I’ve had this age gap, twice! Also don’t drive so walk a lot and use public transport.

I’ve never had a double buggy as I just find them way too big and cumbersome. I prefer pram (Bugaboo) either with buggy board or baby carrier or both. It’s worked well for us!

I had a tandem double for that age gap but even that felt too big for buses (it fit on but only if no other prams on first). The side by side buggies might fit in places but they often block entire aisles and pavements, or take up the whole of the space in a lift or on a bus and I felt too self-conscious to use them.
I just used the double when walking (I did a lot of long walks!) or occasionally on the train as it was all step-free and no limits to the space. For buses I'd use a Yoyo and carrier, which was much more compact.

Our n about nipper double is great. Ours fits everywhere. Only issue has been getting flat tyres

We used the out and about nipper and it was great. Easy and lightweight to push and the little carry cot worked well for my newborn.

SIL has the bugaboo donkey, she struggles to fit in some lifts and usually has to lift the car seat/ carry cot off for one of the babies. She loves the pram but admits it’s really heavy.
