Who here is the oldest pregnant woman or knows her?

As I am too old now to have 10 babies, (started too late) who here knows the oldest pregnant woman. When is the cut off point do you think, that we are stopping having children?

is there not a pg 67 yr old in eastern europe somewhere? saw it in the paper

Yes a Romanian lady had fertility treatment at 67 I believe.

Yes but she did have to have masses of drug therapy to reverse the menopause.
Naturally it stope a bit earlier - depends how old you are MDWW.
I was pregnant at 41 and Cherie Blair did it at 45 so you've probably got time, altough not necessarily for 10 of them.

What i meant was do any of you know "older" women in your own circles who are pregnant or who had babies late? How did they get on with it?

My granny had her last at 46 or 47. She's not really in my social circle though. And they did just get on with it in 'those days'.

My MIL was 44 two days after she had DH's sister.

And she has more energy than me I think.

dh's granny (now 101 yrs) had her youngest well into her 40's, 44 or 45 I think. She just got on with it, really

Sponge, she didn't have any therapy to reverse the menopause. There is no such thing. She had donor eggs (ie someone much younger's eggs).
Fertility is very variable. There have been cases of women concieving naturally in their fifties, but this is very rare. It is pretty normal to be able have babies in your (normally early) forties though.

Sorry you're right, but she did have 10 years of fertility treatment so she didn't conceive "naturally". Nothing wrong with that but if you're after a large family you're more likely to get there if you can pregnant without intervention I'd have thought.
Certainly pregnany in your early to mid 40s isn't at all unusual but after this it becomes rarer and more prone to complications.
In my experience it is all a bit more tiring as an older mum (both the pregnancy and the v small baby phase) but otherwise still wonderful.

If you want your own babies you definitely have to start before you are 67, that's for sure

aloha, i'd imagine that's why her baby was born early and so small, her uterus wasn't up to supporting the placenta etc, she did have 9 attempts before this one and a twin was born dead

Yes, I do think there are lots of good reasons why 67 year olds never get pregnant naturally. That story is just sad.

my mum had me at 45 (2 weeks before 46)

someone i know is having her first (twins!) at 45ish not iVF and not entirely planned apparently

My friend had twins at 40 & a dd just before her 43rd birthday.
