that is the good thing about having 3 when commonsense suggested stopping at 2 - now I will never suffer from broodiness again

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:08

5, 3 and baby will be one on the 11th feb

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 13:09

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:09

eek........i wish!!

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 13:10

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:10

im not really in the right frame of mind to be pg again. and we got a puppy a few weeks ago!!!

oh sigh......now i really AM broody.......

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 13:11

im off to try baby making... dh is home and jess is asleep - perfect opportunity! Be back soon!!!

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:11

though i think part of my depression is actually cos i want another baby.

Im too practical for my own good......dh wants another one badly and suggested that I come off my injection next month......im not so sure. if money and sanity were no problem then I would do it tomorrow......

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:11

eek TMI!!!! have fun!! lol

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 13:12

i have found that money can never be a deciding factor - you always cope. and my sanity has well and truly gone so hey, what the hell!

I had lots of failed infertility treatment then twins followed by severe (v severe) PND.

Would have to go through the IVF again / possibly face the PND again BUT

I would really really love another baby.

Im 33 but DH is quite a lot older. 3 people at work just about to go on maternity leave.

Would be total and utter madness but just cant get it out of my mind.

Did someone say it goes on until menopause ???!!!

I had a Caesarean, mastitis, problems with breastfeeding in the first month, but since my son was 7 weeks old life is brilliant with him, he eats well, sleeps well, is cute, very chatty and funny...I sometimes think if it was guaranteed that all my kids would be like DS, I'd have another 8!!!!!!!! :0)))

honeycombe · 26/01/2005 15:44

I'm so broody too!!!!!!!! but dp isn't at all. Ds is 2 and a bit and and I don't want a big gap between siblings and accounting for the 9 months before you get to that point I should be getting down to it soon. I think it is important being a SAHM and would like to do the same 2nd time around but also would like career aferwards and we could be looking at at least 4 years away and thenwhat if i have another boy!!!! I'd love to have a girl and would want to try again- plus alot of my friends are sprogging at the mo some 2nd time around so all i see is babies everywhere!!!!!!!! grin envy grin

EnlightenedFlum · 26/01/2005 15:53

Broody, broody, broody, it seems to be catching. I wasn't til I read this and thought, well if their doing and blow the consequenses so should we.

We've only got one, who was an accident. But I figure in for a penny in for a pound. I'm not gonna get a lie in for a few years anyway.

Problem is getting married in August and not sure how I would feel with being bumpy in a wedding frock!! Not to mention not being able to get sozzled. Not to mention already being knocked up on a honeymoon and looking like a minger in a bikini. Nah, best to leave it for now I think

lunavix · 26/01/2005 15:57

Titania - how old was your first when you got pregnant with your second?

Titania · 26/01/2005 15:57

um......13 months i think

marj · 26/01/2005 20:17

My ds is 20 months old and I am broody too. My friend is due with her 2nd in only 2 weeks time and I have to say I am a bit envious.

I had a really hard pregnancy, difficult delivery, poorly baby in scbu after he was born, and many many sleepless nights with colic, but I still want another one too.

I am 31 now and my age is starting to bother me. Compared to some of the really young mums I encountered on the maternity unit I feel like an old woman! Maybe my biological clock is trying to tell me something!!!

eidsvold · 26/01/2005 21:16

no - although I have dd aged 10 weeks but packing away her first lot of clothes does.... sad I know but we are not sure if she is the last one we will have and so a little bit of me is sad to be packing those clothes away. I also look at my two gorgeous girls and think how lucky dh and I are - would like another gorgeous one!!

31 is not old marj!!

Had dd1 at 34, dd2 at 36 and if I want another probably at 38.... who knows depends on dh...

Tessiebear · 26/01/2005 21:18

31 is not old - i am pg with no 3 at 31!!!!! GO FOR IT!!!

aloha · 26/01/2005 21:27

Marj, I'm 41 (10 years older than you!) and baby no2 is due in just over a week (no1 born when I was 38). Now do you feel young? And do you know what? I don't feel old at all. I'm always shocked when I write my age down
You've got time for five more!

Tessiebear · 26/01/2005 21:32

I was wondering when your baby was due Aloha - good luck - sorry for temporary hijack of thread!

marj · 26/01/2005 21:35

Thankyou so much! I do feel better. I didnt mean I felt like an antique, its just that when you see mums of 17 it makes you feel ancient!

Good Luck Aloha! I hope everything goes really well for you. You will have to let us know how you get on.

I would like another 2 more but dont know whether dh would approve. He may manage 1!!!

handlemecarefully · 26/01/2005 21:39

Fennel,

I've always appreciated your honesty - i.e. "people with any sense will quit whilst they are ahead". I know how much you adore dd3 and yet you would still counsel others to think carefully about having more kids. It was your comments on a couple of threads that put paid to romantic nonsense in my head about having a 3rd. Thanks for that. I know that a 3rd would probably finish me off!

lou33 · 26/01/2005 22:01

Due in a week?!

Omg that has flown.

Miaou · 26/01/2005 22:27

Looking at babies per se doesn't make me broody, but having been around while bensmum3 had her ds2, who is now 18months and just gets more adorable each day - well that did for me in the end and I gave in to my broodiness! Expecting no. 3 in August! Dh would happily have 4 so no opposition there - but I have to say that it took me ages to make my mind up this time as I wanted to be sure that I really wanted another one and was not just giving in to broody urges.

Jessica's mummy - I got pg with dd2 when dd1 was 8 months old - therefore 17 month age gap - and it's fantastic! Bloody hard work for the first year, but after that they became inseperable and do everything together - at the ages of 7 and 6 that is just beginning to change but has been a godsend!
