KatieinSpain · 26/01/2005 08:57

No .

expatinscotland · 26/01/2005 09:01

DD is 19 months old and I'm just now starting to feel broody for another one. Maybe we'll start trying . . . next month . I didn't feel broody at all till I started packing away her tiny clothes - thinking about the wrinkly-faced, totesy baby she was (before she learned to say 'No' )

lulupop · 26/01/2005 09:24

erm, apart from the usual horrendous labour/C-section stories, how about the fact that, despite DS (aged 3) being not too bad a sleeper (just bad dreams these days), and DD (9 months) being not too bad, the combination of the two means that on an average night I wake up 4 times: midnight (ds bad dream), 2am (DD wakes up and cries for 20 mins), 4am (DD wakes up and cries for milk), and 6am (DS starts the day)

I haven't slept for more than 2 hours at a time for 3 years now. I still love babies but the thought of another one turns me right off!

munnzieb · 26/01/2005 09:26

well the day after we agreed to start trying my mate told me she was 8 weeks - and now she's had him, it's not fair I tell u it's just not fair! all in all, 6 ppl got PG last spring on our estate, and we were trying and I wasn't one of them, so yes I am v v broody! lol. hopefully this spring will bring us more luck!

miam · 26/01/2005 09:29

Ermmm, well I have had 4 not very good pregnancies, 4 difficult births (one e-section), inability to breastfeed, PND after each of them, and 2 constantly hysterical shrieking babies who would not sleep day or night....

BUT... it makes not one jot of difference. I am still broody when I see a baby. I think I always will be....

Twiglett · 26/01/2005 09:31

No .. but looking at my own baby (8 months) and at DS makes me want another

then again I have lovely calm babies but horrible, nasty pregancies

but yes .. have been broody since DD was 2 weeks old

handlemecarefully · 26/01/2005 12:29

Ummmm mamadadawahwah - do you have just the one at the moment?

Before I had any children I wanted ooohhh about 4
When I had one child I thought - umm this is hard work, maybe just the three then
Now I have two children (2.6 and 9 months old) I'm stopping at 2.

It's too much like bloody hard work.

2.6 year old Dd was ill all weekend with flu
and currently 9 month old ds is vomiting like its an olympic sport and has been since Monday.

When they are little they are ALWAYS ill - or at least they are over the winter months.

Remind me - what part of this was supposed to be fun!!!

handlemecarefully · 26/01/2005 12:30

and because they are always ill then so am I....

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 12:31

me and dh "spoke" last night, and although jessica is only 6 months old, we are now officially trying for another - hoorah! I know its gonna be hard but i cant resist any longer. ive had this feeling since jess was about 3 weeks old!

handlemecarefully · 26/01/2005 12:34

Good luck Jessicasmummy,

You're going to need it. Especially with that sort of age gap

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 12:35

i know... that was the only thing stopping me but i have to for my own state of mind... it got to the stage i didnt want to have sex with dh unless it could possibnly mean i was going to get pregnant! it took 4 months to conceive with jess, so im assuming it will be roughly the same this time, by which time jess will be nearly 2 when bubba born

lunavix · 26/01/2005 12:36

Aww

I can't wait to have another

I know I want AT LEAST four

Eulalia · 26/01/2005 12:54

Looking at other people's babies has never stirred anything in me and even after having my own its a long time before I've thought about the next one. I think babies are lovely and have always been positively obsessed with my own but when I look at other kids I think they look more cute betwee 3-5 years when they are all in proportion but still small ifywim.

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 26/01/2005 12:55

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 5 are plenty thanks.

I only ever got broody when I was pregnant and it was already a done deal.

nutcracker · 26/01/2005 12:58

YES......I always wanted 4 (have 3), but there are a million reasons why it would be a bad idea so i'm not going to.

Roobedoo · 26/01/2005 12:59

Hello, I'm new. My ds is just 6 months old and we are desperate for another one asap! We're already on the third month of trying and I'm curious to know whether anyone out there noticed that first symptoms differed with subsequent pregnancies. I know people say their pregnancies were all very different, but I'm wondering if first signs of pregnancy differ to.

Look forward to your comments.

Fennel · 26/01/2005 13:00

people with any sense will QUIT WHILE THEY'RE AHEAD - not carry on til they have one too many....

Roobedoo · 26/01/2005 13:00

Sorry, last to should have been too - silly me.

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 13:01

roobedoo!!! Welcome and hoorah! My dd is only 6 months too and we are trying! Excitingtimes huh!

acnebride · 26/01/2005 13:03

no. other people's babies are lovely but so organised, so clean, such lovely clothes, such tidy houses...how the h*ll? even when they have 3 or 4. DS, my only one, looks very similar to a dirty linen basket, is constantly ill probably due to my poor nappy hygiene, so I'm constantly ill too, has bruises and scars from too-long nails all over his face, wears babygros that are too short so probably has deformed feet... I would like another but only and entirely for ds's sake, he's going to need somebody else who believes him when he says what it was like as a kid. he is absolutely gorgeous but i am disappointed to see he looks more and more like me, not so bad for a boy but i really feel sad for any girl that ends up with my looks.

Titania · 26/01/2005 13:05
