Is this bad news… pregnancy approx 16 DPO

I had my last period on 8th Jan and then had a LH surge on 26th Jan so ovulation likely happened then or 27th. I got a faint positive at 9DPO (6th Feb) and have been tracking line progression. I feel really scared as had a TFMR previously so is this a chemical pregnancy as lines are not getting darker and my CB digital says 1-2 but shouldn’t it say 2-3?

If you do an advanced search, there are lots of women whose digital never showed more than 1-2 weeks but who went on to have a perfectly normal pregnancy.
Hard not to worry though, I know.
Congratulations, I hope all goes well Flowers

Morning @hopeandrainbow26I’m so very sorry for your loss. I think it’s ok for it to be 1-2 weeks today. Remember those only calculate from ovulation so 1-2 weeks means 3-4 weeks in normal speak. You ideally want it to change in the next couple of days but those tests aren’t terribly accurate anyway.

Also if you were 9dpo on 6th Feb then surely you are only 15 dpo today? Plus you aren’t really that sure when ovulation was. I once got pregnant from having sex 5 days after my LH surge so ovulation isn’t necessarily like clockwork.

I had many struggles having my babies so I totally get the panic but this one looks ok for now. Best of luck x

I’m just so worried! My lines arent dark at all here

There’s definitely progression with your lines, but there doesn’t seem to have been much from 14dpo to 16dpo, and if I’m being honest they do like quite light for 16dpo.

I have seen quite a few women with slow progression and faint lines go on to have normal pregnancies though, as these tests aren’t really supposed to be used this way and can be affected by urine concentration.

Could you get a blood test to check hcg levels over 48 hours? I think that’s the only way to know this early for definite.

I’m in the same position OP. According to my calculations I’d be 4 weeks 5 days pregnant today, but I’m still showing 1-2. Getting strong positives though on normal tests, and also some pregnancy symptoms. It’s my first positive after years of trying so it’s really stressful!

hopeandrainbow26 · 12/02/2026 10:15

Thanks everyone - I think I should trust my instincts and this is probably a chemical and now have to wait it out. I’m really sad

I was a victim of the clear blue weeks indicator. Was getting HCG tests as IVF pregnancy and I did get a 2-3 weeks bit it never went to 3+ even though rates were rising. It caused a lot of panic ahead of the blood tests. I am now nearly 34 weeks so it didn't mean anything in my case. I remarkably managed to refrain from any line tests after my initial tests so I don't know how my line progression looked but I do know my easy at home initial test was quite faint even though I was 10dp5dt which is equivalent to 15 dpo. My Frer test was more reassuring.

Good luck, I know how awful the anxiety is but unfortunately I think all you can do is get some HCG tests and check the levels are rising as expected or wait it out. Wishing you all the best.

I haven’t tried again yet, putting it off for a couple more days. My lines have been dark on other tests (and I’ve done several now over the last week or so, and different manufacturers) and they’re as dark as the control so no idea what to think. Also getting quite a bit of nausea. What about you OP?

I think that’s the only thing we can do. I’ve done some research and some people have had the same but had successful pregnancies so who knows?

@hopeandrainbow26ive just taken another and it’s finally increased to 2-3 weeks, which is a relief. Although given I am probably about 3 weeks I don’t know whether I should be worried still. I tested this evening - is it worth you waiting another 48 hours and trying again? Hope it works out ok for you xx

Thanks… still a very long way to go!

Have you tried testing again? If you ovulated only a couple of days late etc it may not be out that much? Or are your lines progressing on other tests?

got everything crossed for you

hopeandrainbow26 · 13/02/2026 17:31

sadly I started bleeding today so can only assume a CP
