Choroid Plexus Cyst Found at 20 week scan, any advice?

Hi my friend just had her 20 week scan and they discovered a Choroid Plexus Cyst, the Dr said they offer go away by 26 weeks and hopefully it should be fine as everything else is fine and baby is growing as expected. Has anyone else had experienced this? Would you mind sharing your experience, as she was really shocked and naturally worried. I’ve looked online and there seems to be lots of people who had this and it disappeared later on in pregnancy especially when they didn’t have other markers. I’m just looking for ways to support her.

I seem to dimly recall either ds and dd had a CPC during the scan. But the doctor was not particularly worried and it must have gone away.

If it was dd, she had other more serious abnormalities during the scan and the CPC would be the least of my worries. If it was ds, it probably did not faze me having had many more real things to worry about with dd.

I had this with my daughter …. I was absolutely terrified and was sent to a Consultant for an in depth scan….all well and my ‘baby’ is now 20 years old. Sending your friend a hug as I know how worrying it can be.

@Pearshapedpear
Glad to hear all was well with your daughter. That’s reassuring to hear. Poor thing is so worried, she was expecting everything to be fine so it’s just come as a bit of a shock.

Hope everything is well with your daughter now. My son had a VSD hole in the heart, which was picked up shortly after birth, so I understand how worrying it is.

My dd had a VSD too. A big one but for a long time, they did not know exactly what was wrong with her in utero. Only after she was born and months later did the doctors narrow it down to a VSD and PDA, which was eminently fixable with open heart surgery. Dd is now fine health-wise but what a rocky start. We consider ourselves lucky.

Hope your ds is doing well now.

My son is in his late teens now and doing well. He was monitored and had an operation to close it when he was 5 and has check ups every 2 years now just to check everything is still as it should be.
