Great staff, has a great SCBU and they'll blue light baby to specialists at kings if needed.

Considering other local ones, I think we are luckily to have some great specialists there if needed

Both my babies went to SCBU and were looked after one of the best consultants in the country

I had DC2 here a few years ago, it was a much better experience than I had with DC1 at another trust.

I had the majority of my midwife appointments at Beckenham Beacon and always found them to be really lovely and I never felt rushed.

DC2 ended up being a late planned c-section and again, I couldn’t fault the care I received. The staff on the postnatal ward were busy but I also felt a lot more looked after than I did first time around. Don’t be afraid to be honest and let them know what you want and how you’re feeling post birth, they were very receptive when I said I needed pain relief and also when I said I wasn’t ready to go home after 24 hours.

My only slight gripe, and this may or may not be a thing anymore, is that they didn’t allow any visitors on the postnatal ward. We had been looking forward to introducing DC1 to their sibling and this wasn’t possible. But this wasn’t a big deal in the big scheme of things.

Any other questions just let me know.

Had DS there 2024 and about to deliver there again soon, can’t fault the care they were lovely and the Oasis birth unit is a two min corridor from
the labour ward so lovely to have a choice where to give birth.
