Feeling so deflated

Feeling so deflated. Im 23 weeks pregnant, and have been anemic since day 1. Iron tablets arent helping and now my B12 is low.

I have been short of breath the whole pregnancy but last few weeks its got worse. Im so fatigued, im struggling to stay awake and have palpitations. I spoke to midwife who did bloods who said my b12 ferritin was low. I asked for IV Iron transfusion as im really symptomatic and last summer before pregnancy i was anemic and Gp believed i had absorption issues as I ate a lot of veg and red meat. I also asked for b12 injections. She wrote to consultant who booked me in for 2 weeks time

But last 2 days ive been crying a lot and feeling so fatigued and short of breath. And I just dont feel right. Midwife said to go Maternity assessment to be seen quicker. Maternity assessment said ED to rule out PE. But I have been symptomatic for weeks and just want to feel better before im heavily pregnant.

Any advice appreciated. Im currently waiting for 111 to ring back as I genuinely dont feel I need ED.

Thank you. I spent all day in ED, then SDEC then Maternity to be told no to an iron transfusion even though I begged them saying I cant go on like this. They said because my Hb is ok, i dont need it. But i explained my ferritin is low and really impacting me physically and mentally. Got given funny looks and Ended up storming out 😟

Im going private for iron transfusion and going to see GP tomorrow to ask for b12 injections. Fingers crossed ill feel better afterwards

That's awful. You really shouldn't have to pay to go private! I hope you can get the iron transfusion sort out quickly and that your GP takes you more seriously than the hospital.
