Pregnant - Mexico holiday?

Hey everyone. I've just found out I'm pregnant with my second baby. I've got a holiday booked to cancun Mexico when I'll be around 11 weeks. Looking for advice on what to do. Reservations are that I'll be so whacked with symptoms I won't enjoy it - I got sickness so bad with my first the thought of that + a 10hr flight with a toddler... Also I've heard about the zika virus... I know it's not a huge threat but I think it would worry me. I'm in two minds about going on the trip or postponing until the baby is here and old enough to go. Advice really appreciated xxx

Personally with a toddler and your experience of your first pregnancy I would postpone. You might be fine but if you aren’t, being away from home and the thought of a long flight back I think would be awful.

Thanks so much, I think you may be right actually. The thought of being that far away could be horrible. The airline have offered to change our flights to a different destination for a small charge - thinking I will change to Greece and wait until my 2nd trimester! ❤️ Thanks again xx

Agree, you won't enjoy it as much if feeling poorly and would feel a waste of money I think. Especially the food! I couldn't get enjoyment out of food during the first tri...and I LOVE food! I'd wait until later in 2nd as symptoms can still linger a bit for some after 12 weeks.

I wouldn't take the risk however small of Zika. Just not worth it.

I've been really worried about zika - I know the risks tiny but I feel like I'd spend my entire trip worrying and if I got bitten my a mos I know I'd freak!!

Thank you I think you're right. I know I have a bit of food aversion already and a weird taste in my mouth. It's a lot of money to spend if you're not going to enjoy. Think I'll wait until I'm closer to 20 weeks and maybe go to Greece instead! Thanks lovely!
