i had a c-section at 41 weeks + 3 and dd2 had still not dropped and definitely no sign of labour anywhere.

I am wondering the same beka, Im due on Tue, last MW appt she said the head was engaged but with 2nd Pg it can bob in and out of being engaged. So, I think there is no hard and fast rules with 2nd ones unfortunatly.
I too am looking for 'signs'!

I never had a midwife confirm, but I was around 36.5 to 37 weeks when everyone started saying "my word, you've dropped" (and there was probably something to it, because I could suddenly breathe again but couldn't manage more than a very slow waddle). DD arrived at 39+5.

belgo · 15/06/2008 09:00

About 36 weeks. DD2 was born at 41 weeks.

36 weeks here with third. Baby still merrily moving around - only turned from breech last week, and still feels like it could turn again! I think they sometimes do not engage until labour starts.

eidsvold · 15/06/2008 10:13

meant to add but had to attend to child emergency - I was told like fungle they can bob in and out and as EEC said ( I was told) with 2nd time they can engage quite quickly.

39 and still not engaged.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/06/2008 12:27

In a lot of subsequent pg's the head never engages, or bob's in and out.

You can still go into labour without engaging (I did with my first)

Hi Beka. Been 'deeply engaged' since 35/36 weeks. 40 now......and still nothing happening !!!!

lulumama · 15/06/2008 19:07

34 weeks, she was partially engaged, and remained so until she was born on her due date

SlightlyMadSweet · 15/06/2008 19:08

mine dropped about 8 hrs into labour.

Her cord was holding her up....

GreenGodess · 15/06/2008 20:05

Mine dd2 dropped during labour

whomovedmychocolate · 15/06/2008 21:41

29 weeks and it's bloody uncomfortable. I feel like I have a watermelon hanging between my legs and can't sit with my legs together, yet have SPD so should do so

I'm 36+4 weeks aswell on 2nd pregnancy, feel like baby dropped already, so much pressure in pelvis, complete nightmare. Appt with MW at 34 wks revealed baby 4/5ths engaged, but think it has bobbed in and out, as last week had no pressure!
