Lost mucous plug, labour coming soon?

I'm 41 weeks, due to be induced at the weekend. Really hoping to go naturally before then. Successful sweep on Tuesday lost my mucous plug/bloody show yesterday and today. How long did people go into labour after this? I'm a FTM if it makes a difference.

If it was a bloody show, there's a good chance of labour starting imminently. If it was just a huge blob of snotty mucus, I was still pregnant two weeks later...

Thanks for the reply @Swaytheboat it was mixed with brown blood so I'm hopeful! Had a curry for dinner to see if that helps move things along 😆

When i lost mine, baby was here 24 hours later. Good luck.

I went into labour less than 24 hours after I lost my mucus plug - your description sounds similar to mine. Good luck!

Mucous plug at around 11 am baby born 9am following day. Also 41 weeks- labour began properly that evening around 8-9pm

Lost mine in the morning and I felt twinges that night but i was in labour the following day

Thanks everyone for sharing, this has given me hope! Still no twinges (that I'm aware of) going to walk as much as possible today.

I had my first baby twelve hours after I lost my plug.

Best of luck, OP!

Update for anyone reading: I started losing my mucous plug over the 48 hours after my sweep on the Tuesday. However no contractions or other signs of labour. 5.30am on Saturday morning my waters broke all over the bed and floor. Baby was born at 11am the same morning at 41+2. What was I doing when my waters broke? Nipple stimulation, recommended by my friend!
