7:5 weeks after c section and after bleeding stopped and discharge started and just about stopped I begin bleeding again, heavily. Is this my first period? Very painful and feels like a lot of blood

It could well be a period, but I’d also think about infection. Is what you are losing smelly, do you have a temperature or feel unwell?
Are you breast feeding?

I had the same. My advice would be to pop to the GP.

My GP thought it was a period/hormone related bleeding but wanted to rule out infection/retained products. After many investigations nothing came up so it was deemed to be the return of my period (extremely rare as EBF!). Glad I checked for my peace of mind. Good luck OP.

@HotchocolateaddictCan I ask what investigations they did?

@BoyMumToBe34 initially a feel of my lower abdominal area, plus a swab and a blood test. When those came up clear but the spotting persisted, I was sent for an ultrasound.
