I am 6 weeks pregnant but for 3 weeks now I've had cramping only at the lower left side of my back..it was constant to begin with and then started to come and go but has got stronger the last 2 days. Waiting to see EPU in a few days but wondering if anyone has had this kinda thing go on as long and it not be ectopic?

My first pregnancy I had the pain that came on in waves, it got so bad I was screaming, could barely walk, looked so ill and was taken to hospital….daughter is now 5! Cramping is really common but I have no idea how all was well when I was in agony!

I’ve had both ectopic and a uterine pregnancy with, in my case, right side pain. Particularly painful was the uterine pregnancy, which turned out to be 2 harmless cysts, one in the ovary that was bleeding a little (corpus luteum, ivf pregnancy, so ovary had been interfered with only weeks before) and para ovarian. Both resolved on their own and I’m still prego. The pain with the ectopic was extreme and woke me up in the night, and I think was mild internal bleeding irritating the surrounding organs. I was managed conservatively (watch and wait) and the pain was only mild after that. You’re doing the best thing in going to epu, they will look after you well. But basically, yes, the on off pains with the harmless cysts lasted weeks!

After a previous ectopic I was advised this time round to go to a&e with right sided bad cramping. It was too early to see anything on a scan to confirm placement but they saw a corpus luteum cyst which they said was very likely to be the cause of the pain.
I had a scan at 5.5 yesterday and the pregnancy is where it should be.

With all my successful pregnancies I've had quite intense lower right sided pain very early on and same as PP it was corpus luteum cyst on the side I ovulated from before I conceived. Hope all is OK for you OP x

Thank you all so much! I couldn't find anyone giving any reasoning for one sided pain other than ectopic and it was worrying me so much! Hopefully all is good when I get seen by EPU and baby is where it is meant to be 🤞🤞

I had left sided pain but higher up.
i got it after a more active or tiring day.
It reduced gradually from 9-12 weeks and now (nearly 15 weeks) I get it very occasionally or mildly

Just had a scan with EPU and thankfully baby is where its meant to be and measuring exactly right 🙌 they couldn't find any reason for the left sided pain/cramping so I've just got to keep an eye on it for now! Thanks 😊
