Just done a pg test, it is positive. We so don't want another child, financially or emotionally. Have a 9 month old and 5 year old who adore, just couldn't cope with another.

What do I do? Help!

Has anyone ever taken the termination pill?

Am so upset.

Unbelievably I was infertile before I had DC1.

Obviously not anymore.

if you are sure you wish to terminate, then you must see your GP asap. you can terminate with the tablets very early on. the sooner you seek advice the better. there are threads in teh archives about this issue, with info re the tablets and counselling etc...

did you have a contraceptive failure? if so, and you are sure you do not want any more, the mirena coil is effective contraception and you don;t need to worry about remembering to take anything.

Thanks lulumama, just what I wanted to hear.

I was on the pill but had two courses of antibiotics, obviously they have interfered with the pill. Damn. Not fair, really do not want to have to make this awful decision. The guilt will kill me but I know we couldn't manage with 2 under 18 months, we have a rocky relationship which would probably buckle with a third child.

Am going out this afternoon, will try to find some threads re the termination pill later.

did yor GP not warn you re ABs and the Pill? if not, that was very remiss. it is not an easy decision, is it, and there is not going to be a n easy or glib way to resolve it, it is just which course of action will be the least bad long term.

be kind to yourself, this is a difficutl thing to consider and do .

Am devastated, it is starting to hit me now. Don't know what to do - how will I cope with 3 DC, 2 of them under 16 months? I am supposed to be infertile FFS!

I had an old-fashioned termination around 10 years ago. there were also women having the pill version which i think was fairly new then. Of the girls i spoke to, they didn't seem to have any problems. Said it was like a heavy period, slightly sorer, but not very.
Could you talk to your gp or anyone about your feelings about the pregnancy? It is a tough choice either way. Go and see someone soon though. And please try not to feel bad about this. It is something many of us go through. I don't regret my termination at all, but you must be sure.

Poor you, what an awful situation.
I had a medical (pill) termination about 10 years ago, as nickytt says, in itself it was fine, like a heavy period, slightly more painful. I think they can only do it within the first 6-8 weeks though so you need to get moving if that's what you decide. Emotionally, I don't think it's any easier than having an 'old-fashioned' termination. I'm sure it won't be an easy decision for you.

Went to see GP today, very understanding, explained that it will take around a week to get sorted.

Have to be honest, am beginning to come around to the idea of having the baby, DH may take a bit of convincing but it it looking more likely that we will have it.

hi just reading this thread and id just like to say that ive got 2 friends who have had the marina coil and have fallen preggers with it, not a good idea me thinks. glad u r sorted tho.
