Could all 3 be evap!?

Hi Ladies,

we’ve been TTC for the last 4 months after my coil was removed in September!

I had a BBT slight dip on 9DPO and a slight rise today at 12DPO.

I’ve taken 3 early detection clear blues over the last 36 hours! The first one was definitely out of time frame because I took it and forgot about it 😅. The final faintest one today was within 10 mins. Do evaps on these get darker as the day goes on? My tests all seem to have a darker line after a few hours. I’ve used these tests probably 50x in the past and haven’t ever had this happen!

I don’t feel pregnant, I have some pulling sensations in my ovaries, tender breasts and lower back ache but nothing out of the normal! If anything I have some period cramps and have done for a couple of days.

These tests are driving me crazy- I’ve ordered some different ones.

are these all just evaps?

thank you!

Looks postive to me! Get a digital test to confirm. Fingers crossed for you!!!

I read a thing, can't find it now, basically there's no such thing as evaporation lines. The test will only change colour if pregnancy hormone is detected.

BUT - very pale tests, or those that show a line after the time window, are still considered negative because there isn't enough hormone for it to be a viable pregnancy.

In your case - it's so early we can't tell yet. Something's happened, we've just got to see if it'll stick! Wishing you stickyness!

There is most definitely a thing that people call evap lines. I’ve had them myself. Even when it’s been absolutely impossible to be pregnant. I even had one at 10am, then had a HCG blood test at 11.00am that was totally negative. I was not pregnant then not pregnant an hour later.

But what people call “evaporation lines” aren’t always exactly that. Sometimes if you saturate a test the dye runs from the control line to the test line making it appear and have colour. Other times some people notice the indent that a test has. These are normally white or grey though.

And then there is clearblue. Which a quick google will show you have a whole issue of problems. They will often show a very thin, very blue line, which is normally broken and doesn’t quite run the full length top to bottom, it will also normally appear after the official test time, but occasionally can appear sooner. This is what people normally call an evap line. Despite it being very blue, the person is not pregnant. Obviously in some situations the person will turn out to be pregnant as they then test positive properly later. But there are hundreds if not thousands of cases of this happening over years. I first got a clearblue thin broken line in 2009. My local EPU (I’ve been there a lot due to many miscarriages) tell people not to use the clearblue tests. I had to ring them to confirm I was still testing positive as recent as last year, they checked with me that the test I was using was NOT a clearblue test.
Normally in the case of clearblue lines, someone will get one of the thin lines, but every other type of test will be negative. Trust me clearblue are not some special type of test that can detect pregnancy that no other test can.

I know I’ve gone on about this, but I just hate seeing so many people get their hopes up and then dashed later on all because clearblue are shit. I’m honestly not even sure how they are allowed to still be sold.

All that being said, @Endomumoftwo , your first test doesn’t look that thin so it could be a faint positive. I don’t like the look of the other two but it could just be a bad photo. Wait a day or two and test again. Ideally not using clearblue.

I’ll be honest these tests are the worst for evaps and yes, I’ve had faint blue evaps. That being said… go get a 6 day early ultra early digital from clear blue! It picks up 10hcg and will say you’re pregnant or not! x good luck

Thank you all, it seems like clear blue are really not good! I feel like these are evaps, it just confuses me because I’ve used several and never had this before. 3 clear blue tests but from different boxes/batches. It’s so exhausting questioning every line!!

the lines are much clearer in person it’s so difficult to see them in pictures but they aren’t ‘strong’ lines and I’d expect 36 hours after the first that it would be a clearer line if it was positive for pregnancy 😞

AF is due Sunday, just going to wait and see I think!
