Is this dye run test positive?

I did a test this morning with FMU and it had a load of dye run but instantly created a pink test line. The picture was taken a few hours after I took the test so has dried now and appears lighter but it was a lot darker and visibly pink at the time I took it. I was unsure how to interpret the test so I done another of the same test with the same urine and it came up practically the same with dye run but pink test line. Is this test positive or a false positive?

With the dye run I’d say it’s invalid.
Re test with a branded test, maybe use a digital so you have certainty?

This is what I was thinking but can’t help but be hopeful! I’ve ordered some FRER tests that are coming tonight and will hold off until morning to test with one. I tested again this morning with the same strip brand as my original pic and literally the same thing has happened. Top two are from yesterday morning and bottom one is from this morning… possibly I’ve had a bad batch because when I’ve used these before and definitely not been pregnant, they’re blatantly negative!

You can’t get false positives - either HCG is there or it isn’t!

This is true. But you can get problems with faulty tests or where the dye from the control line runs down into the test line making the test appear positive when it is not.

Definitely looks positive to me

I would be cautiously optimistic with that line but definitely test again. Try and dip tests into a pot rather than wee on them as this reduces flooding.

I have 100% had a false positive. People swear it can’t happen but it definitely can. It was a stark pink line too and not a chemical because the other one I did with the same wee was totally negative and I came on that night. I’ll try and find a photo of it.

That being said OP, if you’ve had two of these with a similar result I’d be cautiously optimistic that they’re positive. Hopefully the FRER will clear things up either way.
