I’m 7 weeks + 2 and I have had loose stool/almost diarrhea (that is foul smelling). This is only in a morning so I don’t think it’s a bug. I was constipated on and off last week and now this for the last 2/3 days. I never had this in my first pregnancy (she was a c section baby). I’ve also been nauseous most of the day, unable to eat tea for last few days. I’m concerned it’s not a good sign. Last year I lost 8kg due to tummy troubles with mainly constipation, I managed to get over it with having more fibre and was in a good place. If I had pebble poop for more than 1 day, on day 2 I’d take movicol and it would get things moving again. Doctors couldn’t find anything so presumed it was IBS. I’m very worried about miscarriage, there’s also a part of me that’s a bit undecided how I feel as it was an unplanned pregnancy, I wouldn’t make alternate choices at this point now, as it was in the pipeline at some point. Just feeling a bit crap I guess.

In my first trimester I basically fluctuated between constipation and diarrhoea and pretty much never had a happy medium. It’s all to do with the progesterone changes. All was well in my pregnancy and my 4 week old is currently asleep on me☺️

Eratic bowel movements are normal in pregnancy... especially early pregnancy as progesterone hormone is rising. My first pregnancy I can't remember any particular bowel movement issues but my current pregnancy I spent I'd say 5 weeks glued to the toilet with Diarrhea. It was atrocious and like you I was afraid to wipe everytime. I actually had like nappy rash type thing and everything because I was going so much.

It's settled now taht progesterone has levelled off.

Midwife has suggested a tummy bug or something I’ve eaten, but I think I’d have been sick and it would be all the time. Neither my 3.5 year old or my husband are ill.

I have loose stool nearly diarrhoea nearly every day - before pregnancy I was always pretty prone to it (never full on runs just slight dicky tummy) and now it’s worse.

I haven’t actually told anyone and I’ve now had it for probably 8 weeks so I assume it’s not a bug etc.

I’ve had a couple a couple of bouts of constipation and maybe 1-2 per week “normal” poo but apart from that the near -diarrhoea is a reliable fixture…!
