Renal pelvic dilation

Hi,

Went for a growth scan today (I’m 35 weeks).

& the right kidney is dilated (renal pelvis dilation), the measurement was 11mm.

I had a growth scan 3 weeks ago & was no mention of anything like that then so summing everything was ok on that.

Has anyone had this before? So worried!

Hi,

My now 13 year old had the same, identified at the 20 week scan. We had additional scans throughout the pregnancy and once born, he had to be on daily antibiotics for 6 months, until a scan showed the issue was resolved.

No lasting issues, we did have some issues with weaning which I always attributed to the stress of being force-fed antibiotics daily, but that was all resolved by the age of probably 2 or 3.

Did they say what the general cause for it is?

It’s just weird as the scan 3 weeks ago was fine!
