High platelets

Has anyone had high platelets in pregnancy? I'm currently eleven weeks and my eight week blood results have finally been published to Badger notes. My platelets are 519 which Google says is high and can increase the risk of blood clots and miscarriage etc. I have had three miscarriages last year, one of which was in the second trimester.

I did have similar in my first pregnancy but my midwife said it was likely due to me being ill at the time. She rested me and they had come down and all was fine.

I'm going to phone them this morning by just wondering if anyone had any experience of this?

Sorry for your loses. My platelets sit around 600 and have done for as long as I've known (including during two mostly healthy pregnancies). If your experience is like mine, they probably won't be worried, to my memory no one has ever mentioned mine and in pregnancy I had to have regular bloods (as now) due to another condition which is completely irrelevant to platelets. Good luck, I hope they either reassure you or help you and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy.

Thank you. It's definitely not normally for me and is 100 higher than it was in my previous pregnancies other then when I was ill in my first. I just don't understand why it was a big deal in my first pregnancy (which was low risk) but not this one!
