Hey everyone....... so I have a 9 year old and an 11 year year old from a previous marriage who ive practically brought up on my own I was looking forward to bow having a bit more flexibility in my life. Been with my partner for 5 years and just found out im pregnant. He has 1 child (8) from a previous relationship also and is very clingy and partner said he will struggle to adapt being used to having all his dads attention. Me and my partner normally get every Friday evening to ourself and then 1 weekend a month as that's when neither of us have kids which would obviously change too. Really struggling if bringing a new baby into a blended family is the right choice but im also struggling woth the alternative. Anyone else been in this situation and what worked for you?

I wouldn't. My DH and I have kids each and we also have Friday night child free and we are still so happy and have an amazing relationship because we have no kids together
Having said that there ARE blended family issues with the kids even though they don't spend too much time together even, and some issues with different parenting styles and occasional disagreements over how each parents their children. Blending a family is bloody hard work and IMO adding another child rarely makes things easier.
