I am 19dpo today and I have done a clearblue I’m worried it’s not as dark as it should be. Would you class this as a dye stealer?

My line was so faint at the doctor's that I was told it was a fake pregnancy. Chemical pregnancy I think they called it

DTwins were 6 this Christmas.

It’s very unusual to get false positives from what I know.

Imisscoffee2021 · 19/01/2026 22:13

That's a strong positive. You could always get a FRER if you want to see a dye stealer but the only way to truly guage hcg is by a blood test, ideally two several days apart to see it rising. I did this (cost about 70 pound both times) as it was an ivf pregnancy so I was anxious to be sure.

Just to also warn you of something called the hook effect if you continue testing and line gets fainter , have a Google, ideally don't test after a few weeks 😅

Mine looked the same as that at 19 dpo and I'm currently 33 weeks! Try not to stress, I remember worrying about it all so much after two chemicals, think I tested every single day til I was 6 weeks and saw baby on a scan!! Feels a lifetime ago now! Good luck and congratulations
