Has anyone recently successfully got a fit to fly letter to go abroad? Hoping to go at 29 weeks and fly home 30 weeks however need a ‘fit to fly’. Does midwife or GP provide this? Also how far in advance did you get it

thanks

Gp can provide I think but you may have to pay

Most of the time you have to apply for a private one. Lots of places online x

GP does it but generally charge £20.(or back in the days). I had it once and it was written by my consultant when I went to see him at hospital. He didn't charge me. I don't know whether midwife or others do. One thought is if you have digital GP, they may do it?

My midwife did one for me at an appointment. She just forward dated it as the airline wanted it within 7 days of the flight. I was 28 and 29 weeks for the flights

they actually never asked for it but it was also an early morning and late night flight so maybe they were tired (and tbh I don’t look that pregnant)
