Plus size pregnancy

This is my second plus size pregnancy - didn’t have any problems the first time but the second time over 2 years later I have gone for my 12 week dating scan (I get my plus size and it can be harder) but they pushed so hard on my tummy where my previous c section scar was it was extremely sore and I have come home to hole in my previous c section incision plus I have to go back in a few days as they couldn’t see everything they needed I feel so sad and not sure what to do, she kind of had a attitude too like you could tell she was annoyed that I was bigger.

Unfortunately that was my experience at the dating scan in my second pregnancy too. I then had the same unpleasant sonographer at both anatomy scans (first couldn't get all the measurements) as well. I had lovely sonographers at all the scans (3 standard + growth scans) with my first, and the one I had at 36 weeks with my second was amazing.

I think some people are just miserable and forget that the people they are scanning are more than bags of meat they need to try to coax images out of. Put them out of your mind, and hopefully you'll have a nicer sonographer at your next scan.

Thank you for this, I’ve felt so sad all day today! But hoping my next scan is a different person 😢 my first pregnancy was amazing and everyone who scanned me was so nice so this was such a bad experience. My next scan is in 4 days so I hope the sore area will have enough time to heal before the next

:( I’m sorry your sonographer wasn’t kind. If it’s any consolation, at my 12 week scan they couldn’t get the measurements either and it’s just that I have a backwards flexed uterus and baby was tucked way back in there. I had to pay for nipt privately as they could only offer me quads test at 14weeks (downs only, which was the trisomy I was least fretful about). Please don’t feel sad, you have a beautiful little bean jumping around inside you :) the issue here was the sonographer not you.
