Natural birth after a previous emergency c section?

Hi there,

I know this is my own decision but I would just like to hear others positive stories of a natural birth after a previous emergency section.

My son is 13 yo (so a while ago) and with him I had a very long labour, he turned back to back and was distressed and I ended up with an emergency c section.
Long recovery my would got infected (I was doing far to much)
Anyway i met my consultant in Nov and i decided to opt for a natural delivery this time after weighing up as much as i could pros and cons.

Now im closer (due in 4 weeks) Im worrying if ive made the right decision, i think im just worrying in general about a lot right now. Also having a recent scan telling me my baby is already estimated 7lbs 1oz worry’s me to.

I felt it was the right choice as I feel I may miss out on a possible amazing experience if all goes smoothly.
Thank you in advance to anyone who reads x

My sister had a vaginal birth after an elective caesarean section. Both babies arrived safely and mum was fine. There are 6 years between them.

How far did you get into labour before the emergency CS OP?

My first delivery was back to back to back. We avoided a c-section but only just. I will never forget how long it took!

My second baby was 10lb and born at home, paracetamol as pain relief. In my experience the size of the baby has no relevance on the pain experienced. It’s the contractions that cause the pain and you’re going to have contractions whatever size of baby 🤣

Im not suggesting you have a home birth btw!

Thank you for all the reply’s 😊

@ForLoveNotMoney my labour was a total of 29hrs, got to 9cm dilated! But think because my son’s heart rate dipped they took me for a section. I was an experience for sure.
