Hi all, I am a first time mum due at the beginning of June.

All my friends have had winter babies so hard to discuss with them.

I just wanted to see if someone can provide some insight into what clothing I should have when baby arrives as it may be warm. Sleeveless, Short sleeve, sleepsuits?

Thanks in advance.

My baby was born at the beginning of June and to begin with she wore short sleeved vests under a long sleeves baby grow, plus a cardigan if we went outside. The “rule” is that they should wear one more layer than you. Once she was about a month old we had some really hot days and on those she just wore a short sleeved romper with nothing underneath

My May bay wore short sleeve vest with long sleeve footed sleepsuit, and often cardigan also. They get cold. On warmer days in August just the short vest when hot, but often with cardigan or blanket still

I’d get short sleeved vests, normal footed babygrows, a couple of cardigans, few rompers and 1 tog sleeping bags. And you can combine, or not, as necessary. General rule is one more layer than you unless it’s really hot and then you can just do a romper or vest on its own.

Plenty of short sleeve vests, plenty of sleepsuits and a few cardigans.
I liked wee footie leggings for my summer babies as they were easy to pop on and off as they day gets hotter or cooler
The shortie rompers are cute but I found them less practical for layering personally so any we’ve had didn’t get worn much

I found a clip on fan for the pram and a few big swaddling size muslins essential for my summer babies too

My early July baby had short sleeve vests with long footed babygrows.
Then similar to others said if we went outside we would add a hat/blankets.

There wasn’t any really warm days until she was at least 6 weeks old, and then we adjusted the above dependant on just how warm, often either removing the vest, or maybe short romper suit instead of babygrow

June babies here. We had long sleeve sleep suits and short sleeve vests, a few cardigans and a lighter hat (like cotton or thin jersey). It was a hot summer that year but still had those on.
