Waiting for labour…

I’m 40 weeks today with my second, I feel like I’ve been teetering on the edge of labour for weeks! I’ve had 3 false alarms where I get (I guess braxton hicks) contractions every 10-15 minute for hours and hours. Always in the evening into early hours of the morning so my sleep is so poor. Baby is also nocturnal and very very wriggly! (Plus already have a toddler who has been waking in the night.) I’m so so bored of it and exhausted. I’m drinking raspberry leaf tea and trying to be upright in the day, but I have so little energy to walk in the day or try and get things going, I feel anxious about going into labour so tired as it was long with my first. I’m torn between catching up on sleep and trying to get this baby moving! Any advice or support would be appreciated!

I'm willing to bet it won't be as long with your second as it was with your first. It rarely is, anyway. I haven't got any more words of wisdom than that. Oh and also, when I had my second, I had a cold in the last few days and I felt so bone tired I wondered how I would have the energy to even start labour, let alone see it through, but the energy came when the need arose for it iyswim. You'll be fine, stay positive!

Thank you that is reassuring and I’m sure you’re right!
