Hi there! My DP and I are ttc number 2 and I have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix post ds1. My Gynae told me I will need a stitch about week 12 in next pregnancy. Can anyone tell me more about this? Will I need a general anaesthetic/hospital stay/bedrest/does it hurt? etc?

My friend had a stitch in her two successful pregnancies, after suffering two very late miscarriages.

She had a GA and was in hospital for between a week and 10 days each time, initially on bedrest. I don't know whether she had any pain. After leaving hospital she had to take it easy, but was able to more or less follow her usual routine, including walking and so on. The stitches were removed at 37 weeks and she then went to just past her due date each time.

Good luck

oh she didn't have it until about 14 weeks.

10 days in hospital? I really hope I don't have to stay in. I live overseas with no relatives to help with my ds (2). Am worrying already.
