Brown and pink spotting 5 weeks

Hello all,

just freaking out a bit this is my second pregnancy the first one ended after 1 week so already on edge.

yeaterday had slight pinky brown discharge which managed to clear up by end of the night. I’ve been toilet this morning and was fine then been and had bowel movement and had pink discharge. Has anyone had this and been okay?

Last time it started of brown and became blood in the space of one day

EPU won’t see anyone until 6 weeks so can’t get any answers officially until then

It could go either way, OP. I had this and it was a miscarriage, but also had it in my next pregnancy which was DD and she’s now a robust 4 year old. It’s really hard in these early days when it’s too soon for a scan. Hugs xxx

Thank you! It’s been a 11 months since we last was pregnant so feels a miracle in itself and just started refferal process and was waiting for March for my partners appointment for tests.

last time it turned to blood quickly so bit reassuring it hasn’t so far

That’s good news. Does your midwife know you’ve had a previous loss? Mine was very good and sent me for a scan as soon as she could when I fell pregnant again after miscarriage. I don’t think I relaxed through the whole pregnancy, it’s very difficult after you’ve has a loss, but everything was fine. I’ve known several people now who’ve had a healthy baby after miscarriage - keeping everything crossed for a rainbow baby for you xx

Thank you! Yes they know I also have an ovarian cyst which was found last year on miscarriage scan. when I asked about any early scans they said would have to come from my doctor as I’m not with them until my appointment around 8-9 weeks

ive Had nothing on my pants but still pinky discharge when wiping.

i know they’ll not scan as it’s too early but hoping a hcg blood test will be offered

Agree with PP not that’s it’s helpful but it really could go either way. I had similar as well as bright red bleeds with both my successful pregnancies

With my first pregnancy I bled so much that I thought I had miscarried. Imagine my surprise when I found out a month later that when I thought I was 4 weeks pregnant I was actually 8 weeks and I hadn't miscarried at all. I really hope you are as lucky as I was.

Thank you! Last time i had blood within a few hours of the spotting I’ve only had spotting so far so hoping it’s all okay but it’s such a stress

I had that the night before I found out which was between 4 and 5 weeks.
was more like proper brown blood than just discharge, for me it’s what I’d get day 1 of my period. Would have filled a panty liner but not a pad

all was ok i now know I have an SCH (haematoma) but that didn’t bleed again for another 6 weeks so it’s unclear what that early blood was xx

Just an update everything still okay we think spotting is constipation related 😂

had an early scan there’s a sac with a yolk and then a currently empty sac next to it ! Another scan in two weeks to find out more
