Is this serious or lighthearted?
Are you just bored of being pregnant or very concerned?

At this stage I'd be requesting an ELCS because i would want the baby out for safety reasons (due to family medical history)
And I personally would never chose an induction or put myself in a position where maternal staff might try and coerse me into one.

I disagree with the reply above.
I think it's half-serious half-lighthearted, but a bit more info would be helpful!

I would not be requesting an ELCS as I don't have a medical history that would warrant one. I went to 41+2 on my first and had an induction booked for 41+6. At no point was I being coerced into an induction or put myself into that position as I chose a very supportive team. Just because you're overdue it doesn't mean it's going to end in coercion or a load of interventions.

I found it okay up to about 40+6 and then I started to worry that baby wouldn't come before the induction! Lots of walking, went for acupuncture at 40+6, I had clary sage oil in a diffuser and put it on pulse points (with guidance from my midwives)... I also had a sweep at 41w. It happened eventually!

You will meet your baby very soon! Try and find some activities to ground you and keep you happy in the last few days of this pregnancy. Baby will be here in a few days :)

Yes! Only 39+2 to be fair but convinced myself they were going to arrive on the full moon on Jan 3rd 😂

They’ll come when they’re ready but everyday I’m flipping between ‘GET THIS BABY OUT OF ME’ and ‘ugh not today though cause I’m too tired’😂

I'm only 24 weeks, but I remember with dc1, I went 9 days overdue, I used to cry every morning when I woke up and realised I hadn't went into labour through the night 😂

The end is so hard because you have no space left for baby, hormones are crazy and you get fed up. I went out to different cafes to sample their dessert menu most days when I was overdue (the desserts definitely helped)

And during labour, my husband said I did shout, "someone pull it out" 😂.
Hoping you dont have much longer to wait x

I went 40 + 11 with my second. It was the worst! They started induction on the morning of +11 and she arrived early evening. 8lb8oz and starving 😂 good luck, I tried all the tricks but she wasn’t budging. Two failed sweeps. The due date is just a guide xx

AWanderingMinstrel · 12/01/2026 20:23

I went 43+1 with my first- I got so fed up of people phoning and asking if I’d had the baby!!!

I’m in for an induction tomorrow! Second baby -
only see negative stories and lots of women saying how long and boring it is. So now I’ve got myself all nervous haha. Oh god, let’s hope I go naturally over night.

Mine were 40+17, 40+13 and 40+18!
First was induced and it was so horrendous i vowed never to be induced again. The later 2 were born in pool at hospital after turning down many inducttion offers. If you have no problems than hang in there babies usuallyh come out when they are ready and a C section unless absolutely necessary is overkill.

Have you had your baby yet? I'm 40+3 today and feel the same, it's crazy isn't it I should just be enjoying these last days of being able to do nothing, rest and sleep but I'm just bored and sick of waiting! Then every day you get messages from multiple people asking if baby has arrived yet. I get it at school drop off every morning "oh are you still pregnant then?" Did the huge bump and lack of newborn give it away? Haha

Nope, was meant to be induced yesterday but the hospital was too busy. So I went up to be monitored anyway, as they wanted to see if they could break my waters when the time comes to it…. Even though Im now guessing I’ll just go into labor naturally.

currently waiting for a call to say I can go up, but since I’m not high risk I won’t be a priority - in other words “how longs a bit of string” 😂.

I am 41 weeks and 2 days tomorrow. Totally over it but seem to be getting calmer (shock) as the days go on… purely because I know they won’t let me go over 42 weeks anyway.

The texts are annoying, I know people just care, but I feel like….. if there was an update I’d tell you 😂 the “any signs of the baby coming?” And the “is he here yet” or “have you got any updates” are definitely starting to annoy me, so I’ve taken to just not even opening the messages now and will update when he’s made his arrival.

I have, however, been getting Braxton hicks BACK TO BACK ALL DAY TODAY. Which I’ve never had before? Is it a sign? No idea but it does feel different than normal.

also, I’ve come to realise that all the tricks and tips to go into labor are rubbish and they don’t work, but I still keep trying them. Just can’t bring myself to have sex 😩😂

Oh I hope it's not too much longer for you and hopefully the back to back braxton hicks is a good sign! x
