Small bump but large baby

Hi all, wondering if anyone can give be any reassurance.

My bump is measuring around the 3rd centile at the moment and Im 29w+5. At my 26+5 appt I was measuring small and they sent me for a growth scan. Based on the scan they said baby is measuring in 87th centile.

I've gone for my midwife appt today and they've basically said they're not concerned because my bump has grown 2cm in 3 weeks and baby is a normal weight so they don't need to do any other scans etc.. I'm just quite anxious though as I don't look pregnant at all, I'm not tall or have a particularly long torso, so I'm worried that there could be something not right but I'm being a little dismissed. Has anyone had any similar circumstances?

If helpful context, baby's Dad is quite tall and this is my first pregnancy. Thank you

@Sunandsea21 you are not unreasonable to be concerned.

If you feel the midwife has dismissed these numbers, definitely ask for a second opinion.

Please do not be afraid to ask, contact the lead/supervising midwife and if necessary ask to speak to an obstetrician.

Yes, if you are concerned you must follow this up. Having said that, no one could tell I was pregnant for ages. I remember the midwife commenting. DS was a healthy 8lbs 4oz.

It happens. If you're concerned absolutely push for a follow up, but it really does happen sometimes. See this video for someone who didn't really have a bump at all (literally saw it this morning so feels like I should share! There's also lots of posts in the comments from other women who have had similar experiences):

No Bump!

I was the same, I didn't show for my entire pregnancy. When I showed up to the labour ward after my waters broke, they asked if I was here to visit someone!

With having had a growth scan and everything looking good, I would just accept your luck! It was very nice to give birth to a baby and look like it had never happened.

I'm pregnant with my second now and definitely have a little bump at 16 weeks so being a first time mum helps too.

I didn't have a bump at all with DC3. She was back to back and almost spread-eagle! It was my most uncomfortable pregnancy by far because of her position, but no one even thought I looked pregnant. I was 5 days overdue and still in my normal jeans. She was 7lbs 6ozs.

If you're really worried then definitely push for another scan.

Yeah I was measuring small. My daughter was 8lb 15oz. Are you tall as that can influence a small bump.
