This is my first post, hi

These are all the tests ive taken over the last couple of months.

you can see the ones i have taken today, in order 8/1.

i saw a faint line two days ago 6/1, so waited 48 hours and the first one i did this morning was initially like a pink splodge (faulty) no control line, but had a bit of the test line, so that gave me some hope but i knew to retest. I waited a few hours and across that time the first test ended up looking positive as it does in the image. The next one looked negative with a tiny faint line? Confused as you can imagine, so used my last test left which was my clear blue digital- not pregnant. Devastated.

my last period was 13th-18th dec. so i think im like 10dpo? I dont know how to calculate my dpo.

period due tuesday but my partner goes away sunday for a week so hoping to get a positive test before then.

would you take this as a negative result or keep testing over the next few days?

thanks

Early testing

Kindly, stop testing so much, it is not going to make you pregnant any sooner. It is not healthy.

My partner goes away Sunday so i would like to know before he goes, he would like to know rather than be on the fence. We get married in less than 3 months so that comes into the equation.

my sister is currently pregnant about 8 weeks and both our dream is to be pregnant at the same time.

along with symptoms, i have many reasons to be anxious and hopeful. It is time sensitive.

after this cycle we wont be making more attempts til after the wedding. This was my last chance to be pregnant and share mat leave with my sister.

my results have been confusing or faint. I can buy more tests. I just want some peace of mind as im losing sleep.

Years ago when I was TTC and would test early in desperation every month I found that the most reliable early result came from the pink dye basic dip sticks. You used to be able to get them in Poundland, I have no idea whether you still can. But in general on TTC communities you get a lot of people saying pink dye tests give better results early on than blue ones.

I have had more faint lines on the pink dye cheaper tests. The caps are blue but dye is pink. I am going to buy more tests today, ones i havent tried yet and do a test each morning just for science tbh. Hopefully i get a surprise

I would take as a negative and test if your period is late. Unfortunately your husband going away will have no affect on whether you’re pregnant or not, so it won’t magically happen or be reliable if you test before your period is due. Will you be unable to be in communication with him when he is away?

He is going to be on another time zone and in many meetings. The point is more that id be alone and finding out alone as i would want him to find out in person, not with a colleague.

i understand the timing is just bad, its probably negative but im gutted and he will be too. I will buy more tests and test before he goes just incase im too early

I say this with kindness but you are driving yourself insane.

All tests from today are negative. The one that looks positive has loads of dye run so is just completely invalid.

Your partner doesn't leave for another 3 days... test the morning that he's leaving if you have to. But honestly you are just creating lots of stress and making up scenarios that you NEED to be pregnant by a certain timeframe etc which will add to your stress.

Yetegs · 08/01/2026 12:01

I would take it as negative at the moment. It doesn’t mean you are definitely not pregnant this month, it may mean it’s still too early. Unless you tracked ovulation you can’t know what dpo you are so it’s impossible to tell if it’s too early or not. Personally instead of analysing lines I’d stick to digital tests if you can afford it. So many tests these days are prone to evaps or dye runs or indents that can lead to false hope then upset later. While SOME digital tests need higher HCG than others, they will spell it out for you in words which is much more reliable. Look for digital tests with a sensitivity of 10miu. Most people will get a positive on these in the couple of days before they’re due on their period.
At the end of the day you’re not out of the running until your period arrives. Some people get later positives than others. But I would stay realistic.
