Irritable Uterus?

Please someone say they’ve experienced the same thing!
I’m 28 weeks tomorrow, for the past 3 days I have been ‘contracting’ every 3 minutes continuously. They are relatively painful and incredibly uncomfortable.
My cervix is closed, I’ve tested negative for pre term labor, have no infection. Due a scan tomorrow to measure length of my cervix.
I’m miserable, my body is exhausted. The doctor said this will either trail off, or could eventually lead to labor. They have given me cocodamol and buscopan which has done nothing. Resting, walking, sleeping having a bath. Nothing has stopped them so far! I’m hydrated and eating properly.

I had this in my first pregnancy and googled so much and hardly got any info, I was having braxton hicks every 10 mins from 17 weeks until pretty much delivery at 39 weeks unfortunately! I just learned to live with it but nothing I did helped it, but being dehydrated and then too hydrated made it worse I had to find a sweet spot!

I had this in my last pregnancy due to polyhydramnios. I begged to be induced on my due date.

When they broke my waters. The relief was immense.

Sorry, that's no help. Once it started it didnt stop until delivery. I hope you find relief from it soon. I did find a way of living with it though.

@gamerchickso I had this last pregnancy from 35 weeks intermittently, when I gave birth I was induced by waters being broken. The midwives mentioned excess water but was never picked up on scans. I have a growth scan as well tomorrow so will query that too! Thank you!

I had an irritable uterus when I was 36 weeks, during my second pregnancy. They gave me a steroid injection for DS' lungs in case I had to deliver early. Mine was caused by an infection though, once the infection was treated it did calm down. Didnt completely stop but DS stayed put until 39w+4. Hope you get some relief from it soon.

Definitely worth asking.

If it is and you get a lot of water. Take an extra labour nightie in to change into. That little puppy pad they use, won't stop the waterfall off the bed and up your back.

I had this with my second. I had two assessments for preterm labour as I was having contractions every 10 minutes.
It started at 33 weeks, I had preterm labour assessments at 34 and 35 weeks. They continued until I was induced at 37 weeks although not always every 10 minutes. I was induced as I was having liver issues and was extreme fatigue that hospitalised me twice. I had a sweep at 36+6 which put me into labour, had I not been so unwell I would have given my body time to progress naturally but as it was I needed a bit more of a nudge with a pessetry and then waters breaking when labour stalled due to my energy levels.
