Constant spotting in Pregnancy

Hi, just interested to hear about other people’s experiences with regular spotting in pregnancy.

Started around 6-7 weeks with brown discharge daily then had a small amount of blood in it after a week which is when I was scanned at EPU and saw the heartbeat at 8+1. Since then it’s continued and now pink/red every time I wipe and has been for about a week. Nearly 10 weeks now and feel a bit in limbo wondering whether it’s going to get heavier and obviously anxious awaiting my next scan in a couple weeks.

The early scan showed a very small area of previous implantation bleeding they thought could be causing it.

In my current pregnancy I spotted around 4 weeks for a few days and then again between 8ish weeks and 11ish weeks. Usually not enough to show on a pad, just when wiping. Mainly brown but I did have a larger red bleed at around 9 weeks which I thought was the end of the pregnancy (2 previous missed miscarriages discovered at around 9 weeks) but EPU scan showed everything was normal, no cause of bleeding identified. I am now 38 weeks and all is good so far 🤞🏼 Fully expected to be told bad news at the 12 week scan.

I was taking progesterone vaginally and so I switched to anally and eventually the spotting stopped. Not sure if coincidence or if it was irritating my cervix but ultimately it was cleaner and easier to cope with so I just carried on (even though if you’d have asked me before I never would have chosen the back passage for anything, ever 😅)

I have two not so positive stories as well but in both of those the baby was already measuring behind (a week in one and 10 days in the other) at the 6 week EPU scans then no heartbeat at the 8-9ish week follow up scans.

Fingers crossed for good news for you 🤞🏼

I spotted the whole way through and my child was fine. It doesn’t have to mean the worst
