Hi all
I’m really worried at 10 weeks pregnant, my bloating suddenly disappeared and I feel a bit less sick/tired.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I had what looked like a proper bump - now barely there

This is really normal and I remember having this in both my pregnancies and my sister mentioned it as well. Must be hormonal or something? (All babies fine and well!)

Thanks that’s reassuring. I could convince myself I had some pain but don’t know if that’s just me noticing the cramps as I’m worried

Currently 31 weeks with no2 and definitely felt bigger at 10 weeks than I did at 16 weeks. I never bloated with my first and didn’t really show at all until more than 20 weeks so was very new to me this time around and just assumed me ‘showing’ earlier was because it was second time but nope… was just bloating! My nausea also improved loads after 10 weeks and fully disappeared by about 14 weeks. Your placenta starts to take over from about 10 weeks so all sounds totally normal to me

Normal, 10-12 weeks is when the placenta takes over.

Thanks so much for replying - did it happen suddenly? Seemed to be overnight for me! X

Mine was more gradual but I’ve seen others say they literally wake up one day and feel different / symptoms vanished and all has been fine. Would definitely speak to your midwife if you’re concerned though

Hi guys am update for those who replied and anyone who reads this later.

I ended up with brown then red blood (smallish amount on pantyliner) and a clot of 3-4cm so as you imagine coupled with the reduced symptoms I was worried.

The clot turned out to be a haematoma, not too big and the baby looked happy and wriggly.

The tiredness and sickness have returned - don’t know whether to be happy or sad about it…!

The bloating did not return as others have said this must be normal so I await my “proper” bump now.

thanks all

@Renisenb I can only imagine what you must have been thinking when that happened! Glad you were able to get seen and be reassured that everything is ok with baby! The symptoms can definitely flip flop for a bit unfortunately. I still get the odd bout of nausea now at 31 weeks! The tiredness definitely improves during 2nd trimester though! Make the most of the renewed energy when you get it back :) good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I had similar with my first two pregnancies.
Massive hormonal bloat really early on - I looked pregnant. Then that went away and I didn’t have a noticeable bump until around the 24/25 week mark with DC1 and around 20 weeks with DC2.

(DC3 I was an actual whale from about 14 weeks 🫠😂 We’d planned on keeping the news to ourselves for as long as possible, but I remember getting dressed, looking in the mirror and realising “well there’s no hiding that now!” 😂)

@MummyV2021thanks so much it was indeed very worrying!

I think the waiting for the scan meant I didn’t have symptoms for longer than I would: as soon as I knew baby was ok they came back. I think my body was running on pure fear/adrenaline that stopped the symptoms, or at least stopped me noticing.
I kept saying - symptoms still not back this is too long for them to disappear - but must have been due to that :’)
